Who We Are

We have been providing electrical and other services since 1986, when Steve Sullivan founded Carry the Light Electric. As our offerings expanded, so did our name. With the addition of a new team specialist, we created a separate division to focus on audio, video, lighting, automation, and shading called CTL-AVL (Carry the Light Audio Video Lighting). The response from clients, contractors, and other trade partners was overwhelmingly positive: they loved having a single low-voltage contractor near Denver to handle all their wiring needs.

To help reduce the confusion with the different names, we now primarily operate under the name CTL Companies.

Steve Sullivan is the CEO and Master Electrician of CTL Companies, which he founded 39 years ago with his wife, Luona. As the driving force behind the company, Steve leads with integrity, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to quality. His leadership is centered on people—building strong relationships with customers and fostering a supportive, collaborative team environment. Guided by his faith, Steve brings a compassionate approach to business while ensuring every project reflects the highest standards of excellence. Beyond work, he enjoys playing the guitar, adding a creative dimension to his life. As he often says, “It isn’t just about electrical work—it’s about the people.”

Director of the Technologies Division

Paul P

As the Director of the Technologies Division at CTL, Paul Pilger is a highly knowledgeable and passionate leader who serves as a trusted resource within the company and across the industry. With multiple certifications and expertise in design, controls, lighting, and audio/video systems, Paul plays a critical role in delivering innovative solutions and ensuring project success. Deeply committed to CTL’s mission, he brings both technical excellence and strategic vision to every endeavor. Outside of work, Paul is known for his quick wit and sense of humor, enjoys camping with friends, and has a unique love for music.

Lauren plays an essential role at CTL as Office Manager, ensuring operations run smoothly and efficiently. Known for her professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care, she goes above and beyond to support both the CTL team and our clients. Her dedication helps create a positive, organized environment where employees feel supported and customers experience exceptional service. Outside of work, Lauren shares a love for music with her husband, Tyler, and together they perform at various venues throughout the year. She is also a proud pet parent to her beloved fur-baby, Navi.

Director of Operations

Ryan B

Ryan keeps the chaos out of operations and the momentum going strong at CTL. With 18 years of operations experience and a degree in Finance and Business Management, he knows how to turn complex challenges into smooth solutions. A Colorado native with a deep love for music, Ryan blends business with rhythm, whether he's solving a logistics puzzle or jamming out in his free time. When he’s not at work, you’ll likely find him on the golf course, cheering on Colorado’s sports teams, or enjoying life with his amazing wife and their two wonderful kids. Passionate and driven, Ryan brings a unique mix of leadership and heart to everything he does.

Project Manager

Harry G

With 23 years of dedicated service at CTL, Harry is a highly respected Project Manager known for his ability to see the full scope of every project. His big-picture focus ensures that each job is managed with precision and care, reflecting his deep commitment to delivering exceptional results for our customers. Beyond his professional expertise, Harry is a devoted husband and father of three. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and competing in adventure races, always seeking new challenges both on and off the job site.

Electrical Control Specialist

Tom A

With an impressive 36 years at CTL, Tom is a highly skilled Electrical Control Specialist and a dedicated Project Manager within our Commercial Division. He oversees multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered with precision and success. Outside of work, Tom and his wife of 34 years, Christy, enjoy traveling and spending time with their family, especially their four grandchildren. A lifelong athlete, Tom has remained active in basketball, playing in a league since his high school days.

Myles H

Myles has been a dedicated member of the CTL team for 14 years. Known for his exceptional attention to detail and pride in his work, he has built strong relationships with customers and is often personally requested for projects. Outside of work, Myles and his wife, Melissa, are excitedly preparing to welcome their first child. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors—hunting, fishing, and camping.

Anthony serves as CTL’s lead technician for automation and integration, bringing years of experience and a strong passion for new technology. Known for his exceptional programming skills and pride in his work, he consistently delivers high-quality results. A devoted family man with three children, Anthony also enjoys spending time outdoors camping and cheering on his favorite sports teams.

Pablo M

Pablo is passionate about making complex home technology feel effortless for CTL clients. With extensive experience in home automation, he specializes in installing systems that enhance comfort, convenience, and connectivity. A skilled communicator and attentive listener, Pablo enjoys building strong connections with people over shared interests, from outdoor activities and sports to history. Outside of work, he enjoys ice fishing, hunting, playing basketball, and working on cars.

For 21 years, Greg has been a valued member of the CTL team. Known for his exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, he consistently demonstrates a deep commitment to both customers and colleagues. Greg’s extensive experience includes traveling with the company to design and build a wide range of projects. Outside of work, he enjoys participating in shooting competitions and spending time camping in the outdoors.
